London, Royal Botanic Gardens - Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens
One of the sights that I had left for last in the program. Maybe because I'm generally skeptical of botanical gardens as a place that will leave a lasting impression ... especially in a country like England, where the parks are a cult! I had already taken the time to visit all popular parks in the city (as best I distinguished Holland Park), but not otklanyam by topic ... whether it be hesitant to visit Kew Gardens.
Perhaps this also to my amazement the whole day spent in the botanical garden. Imperative place for all tourists in London, stocks with provisions and drinks for the walk is long, but impressive!
Huge glass pavilions representing different zones of the globe by providing a suitable environment for hundreds of thousands of plant species. Some of the largest greenhouses, this is named after the Princess of Wales, kept inside, to 10 climate zones. From the dry desert climate to a wet environment suitable for the flourishing of beautiful orchids. Everywhere microclimate maintain computer systems for monitoring changes. Of course all this remains hidden from visitors ... while walking between the strange plants, walking a narrow path, I forgot that move under the glass lid ... illusion of reality is magic. Garden with orchids, cacti, lakes with water lilies and lotus, rice paddies, arctic garden, bamboo forest, the alley of rhododendrons, everything is amazing. I was lucky to see the flowering of rhododendron trees and rose garden in one of the most beautiful periods for which I am grateful to fate (early May).
Impressed me a house of palm trees, home to the largest palm in the world captive. Here are the paths more narrow and meanders between groves of tree ferns, lianas twisted bundles between the branches, bright flowers grow between the shrubs, palms, mango, banana, bread trees, oranges, grapefruits, huge 15-meter bamboo representatives of tropical jungle of Africa, South America, rare plant species from Asia and Australia, it has found its place here, despite the diversity exposure does not appear cluttered ... looks very real. Winding stairs at both ends of the main hall, take you high in the dome above the exposure where you can watch this mini rainforest almost bird's eye view. In the basement is tropical aquarium, which presents a rich collection of colorful tropical fish. For their larger brethren should go to the London Aquarium, but we will discuss another time
My other favorite place was the house of evolution - with the help of animatronics, the creators take us back 3.5 million years ago, to the geysers, sulfur craters, the first plants, the ancestors of today's palms, and some robotic animal inhabitants. The atmosphere is like in adventure and if you sit for a long time, you might get the illusion of a journey back in time. Go back to the park, outdoor is also incredibly beautiful, lilac garden smells nice pass along the lakes and enters the Japanese garden, which takes us to the ancient East with temples, stone lanterns and stone famous gardens. A little further is the great pagoda, built in the 18th century. High is almost 50 meters and has recently opened for visit after major reinovatsiya. Built ten octagonal storeys and the top is reached by a spiral staircase. Warning pagoda is open to visitors between April and October! During the rest and can enjoy the side.
Well, if I missed something ... no doubt, but what will surprise you with your visit to this amazing place.
