Waitomo Caves are located on the North Island of New Zealand's Waitomo region. The name is Maori origin and translates to water passing through the hole. Located near the small town bearing the same name - Waitomo, which attracts many temporary workers.
 According to some researchers the age of Waitomo caves is over two million years. Waitomo Caves gain popularity as a tourist destination since the early 20th century. Originally divorce visitors from the local Maori population. Waitomo caves are in the world for its beautiful cave formations - stalactites and stalagmites, as well as the presence of a large colony of glowing worms.
